BEST NEW EUROPEAN TRIPS FOR 2024 - ETHICAL & GREENER TRAVEL - THE GUARDIAN

EARLY BIRD ENDS 30TH NOVEMBER - ENTER 2025BIRD AT CHECKOUT

Spread over 4 days on the mystical Cornwall coast. come and celebrate Imbolc.

Imbolc, celebrated around February 1st, marks the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere.

It’s associated with the awakening of the earth and the anticipation of spring. Spiritually, it symbolizes renewal, purification, and the return of light and life after the darkness of winter. It’s a time for introspection, setting intentions for the coming year, and honoring the goddess Brigid, who represents healing, inspiration, and creativity.

Many see it as a time to cleanse the home and mind, preparing for the growth and abundance of spring.

We’ll be jumping over small fires to celebrate Brigid and her snowdrops 🌟

Our retreat venue, Erth Retreat located in Cornwalls Forgotten Corner will be our home. With this as our energetic landscape holding us, we use its uplifting magic, combine the retreat with intentional movement; stretching yoga in an atmospheric candlelit warm chapel, walking across the jaw dropping South West coastal path and across the open moorland and Tors on Dartmoor.

Food is so important to us and we’re nourished by food grown either on site or locally, taking advantage of the incredible foodie chef talent prevalent in Cornwall and served to you at your table- no need to lift a finger!

In short we’ve created a safe space in Nature for you to find the peace, space to breathe into your own bodies and anchor yourself  to feel into the transformation on offer.

Find out why this retreat is endorsed  by @theguardian @thetimes and why we have built a community of loyal returnees!

We’ve curated events using the healing power of nature

“True heaven is a place on ERTH !”
— Laura J - Go Wild Early July 23
Polly, Shaun and all the wonderful women, so nice to be with you and chat in such beautiful surroundings. Feel inspired and a little in awe. Perfect.
— Alison G - Go Wild July 2024

The promise here is that you you will have a full immersion into nature, whilst living in stylish and comfortable interiors of a Jacobean Manor House situated on a peninsula almost surrounded by the tidal River Lynher (report on importance of being in blue spaces -HERE.). Its a peaceful retreat for wildlife and busy people. The team at Department of Wellbeing are down to earth, and all highly qualified in their area of expertise. Not only is Erth their venue, it is also their home - the place they chose intentionally to run retreat from… A place where you are making an ethnical choice to retreat too - one, with the cleanest of air…

Dartmoor Wild Swim - The Essence of Go Wild

Outdoor dining with the River Tiddy and the village of St Germans in the sunset

Huge thanks for a blissful few days shared with wonderful people ... Erth hit the spot and even got me on a paddle board ...fears truly are to be conquered. Be happy and Go Wild more..
— Bea S - Go Wild July 2024
I was blown away by the beauty of the Erth Retreat and the impact of a few days away immersed in nature. My heart rate dropped, my sleep improved, my steps increased and my body felt nourished. The food was awesome, the group supportive, the activities, which were optional, were well planned and I slowed down in the quiet. Until I return, and I intend to...

LOCATION:

ERTH RETREAT almost surrounded by water

Your home for your retreat is Erth Barton. A Jacobean House of historical mystery, its built of stone and granite with mullion windows, on the grounds there is even a 12th Century chapel, within a courtyard setting and in the neighbouring paddocks, we have a yurt, a cabin and a couple of shepherds huts.

Erth Barton sits in an exciting area of Cornwall, where the 4 mile stretch of beach at Whitsand Bay is just a short drive away. Twenty minutes to the east is Dartmoor National Park, and frames the horizon here at Erth. Cornish coastal towns of Cawsand & Kingsand sit elegantly on Rame Head (AONB) peninsula a beautiful landscape of tidal creeks and sandy beaches - known as Cornwall’s forgotten south east corner….

Erth Barton is located just over the Devon/ Cornwall border easily accessible from the A38. Erth is sitting on its own peninsula - there are no public footpaths here, only private walks - the paths around the peninsula are surrounded by ancient oaks, ferns , blackberry bushes, lichen and moss. This place is wild.

The invitation here is to deepen your connection with Nature and the luxury here is to breathe clear air and experience clean water.  Lichen cover many of the trees and woodland, and hang from branches as if suspended in air.

The benefits of blue spaces on our wellbeing are HERE and for a few days you will live this life.

When I first arrived at Erth Retreat, I was completely in awe of the setting. It really is incredibly beautiful. A lovely old house - beautifully decorated with huge rooms, and the most divine views with water all around. It is so tranquil with just bird song and cows lowing- completely idyllic...The food was just amazing - full of goodness, colour and taste. I miss that so much already and the activities were a great mix, and a few firsts for me too.
I could not have asked for anything more. It was a little dream like! I am now really missing everybody and the beautiful place and am about to book for next year. I think this will be my May refresher!
— Penny R - Go Wild Erth May 23
Huge thanks to you all for an absolutely
unforgettably brilliant time. A Solstice to remember
— Catherine S - Go Wild June 2024
““What an incredible retreat! I came back completely regenerated and empowered. What I love about this retreat is the comprehensive approach and how different activities are perfectly combined together to connect you to nature and uplift your spirit.
The location is just breathtaking, and the venue is stunning.
Polly and Shaun are such lovely and accommodating hosts. I love their friendliness and sense of humour ...!I have already booked a place for next year!””
— Eleanora C - Go Wild Sept 23

2025 PROGRAMME

The Go WILD programme has been loved by both clients and the press since 2019, when we first gathered our group of experts to teach our wellbeing community, the importance of sustaining a good level of health and fitness which has evolved and become central to our lives and wellness.

We offer strategic systems of support to optimise your wellbeing.

On arrival, we follow a schedule of events held mainly in nature to reset body and mind and recalibrate your nutritional intake by offering delicious menus to fortify your busy lifestyle.

Everything on this retreat is optional - its your retreat, we just guide you with an outline…

Dartmoor Flora and Fauna walk - Tavy Cleave

WHAT TO EXPECT

The gateway to our Go WILD retreats is always through the breath, and so after our arrival talk we will enjoy a breath work session and how best to integrate the practice over the following few days and various activities. We hope to expand your energy levels with grounding long hikes either over Dartmoor, or along the South West Coastal Path, in Cornwall. Being immersed in nature and wild landscapes will offer plenty of uplift and inspiration to become both stimulated and nurtured, and for minds and bodies to understand the difference in these opposing feelings. This requires a new awareness of discipline and clarity, which we will also learn to recognise during our programme.

JOURNALING WORKSHOP

Building your light from a place of darkness is what all exceptional women do.

It takes quiet strength to extract the gold from the rubble.

It takes quiet power to show-up to yourself consistently to notice the shape of change.

I met myself daily on a page. Journaling became the way through to creating my own wellbeing. Once taken, the excitement and momentum builds into confidence and then unshakeable self-belief.

The method I used daily helped me change from being homeless post- relationship to building 3 retreat businesses in 2 retreat venues and meeting the love of my life and being a business coach who coaches creatively. I’m sharing the exact methods this New Year.
Think fireside journaling with like- minded others after returning from a beach walk under big skies between Christmas and New Year.

I can’t wait to run this life- changing workshop with you on retreat.

Thank you for a wonderful time, much needed energy, rest, love and laughter - and space to share. A brilliantly organised few days & activities - and oh the goodie bag !

So many thanks Shaun and Polly. What I needed was exactly what you gave me..an opportunity to stop having to make decisions for a while and to take on a few new ways of thinking, eating, moving and connecting with new people that I will absorb into my daily life from right now.

— Sam Cox - Go Wild Jan 2020
Go Wild retreat combines just the right balance of outdoor activities, yoga and socialising. To complete this perfect arrangement is the beautiful location and surroundings of Tilton House, with its historical legacy and picturesque gardens. Highly recommended and I’m looking forward to visiting again!
— Veronica - Go Wild June 2021”
From start to finish I absolutely loved my Go Wild Retreat. From the idyllic setting to the incredible food, to the diverse range of activities, everything was absolutely spot on. I felt very at home and comfortable straight away; I had never been on a retreat before and this was such a lovely experience for me and I loved every second.
— - Millie E - Go Wild 28th June 2021
This retreat was equally moving and inspiring. The yoga, the many other retreat activities, and the delicous meals were a gift for me. Life has been challenging and the retreat was a pocket of time when everything else went away. It was a rare moment in which I was truly immersed in the here and now. And that doesn’t seem to happen much these days. I made four new friends, too - a windfall given last year’s lockdown.
— Sharon Bylenga - Go Wild June 2021
